Bonobo presentation: Campbell River, August 20th @ 19:00
Thanks to everyone who came to my my presentation on Quadra! I wasn't expecting such a strong turnout in the middle of the summer, about 60 people. The questions at the end were wonderful (handedness, selection pressures, habituation, ape language etc.), and in two years hopefully I will back to tell you the punchline. And a big thanks for all your donations - we raised $370 for Kosepela!
If you weren't able to make it to Quadra, next week at 19:00 on Wedesday, August 20th I will be doing another presentation at the Campbell River Museum. In case you missed the description last time: In my presentation, I will share experiences, photographs, and videos from my first study period at Wamba, DRCongo. I will present a little bit about bonobo biology and social behaviour, and discuss my own research topic: gestural communication. Finally, as all biologists are wont to do, I will talk about the future of bonobos and bonobo conservation.
Admission is by donation, with all proceeds going to Kosepela, to support community projects at Wamba. Refreshments will also be available.
Again, spread the word about the event on Facebook. Hope to see you there!
